Hermes Agent Integration
Complete guide for using Qorebit with Hermes Agent (by Nous Research) to power your autonomous agent tasks across Desktop, CLI, and messaging platforms.
Why use Qorebit with Hermes?
Hermes Agent is an open-source, self-hosted AI agent with persistent memory and autonomous skill creation. By integrating Qorebit, you can effortlessly switch between leading models (like GPT-4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Llama 3) for your Hermes workflows without managing multiple API keys.
Setup via Desktop Application
If you are using the Hermes Desktop app (available for macOS and Windows), configuring Qorebit takes just a few clicks.
1. Open Settings
Launch the Hermes Desktop application and navigate to the Settings or Providers tab.

If you prefer running Hermes Agent via the terminal (Linux, macOS, Windows WSL), you can pass Qorebit credentials via standard environment variables.
1. Set Environment Variables
Export your Qorebit base URL and API key into your shell environment before starting the agent.
export OPENAI_BASE_URL="https://api.qorebit.ai/v1"
export OPENAI_API_KEY="qb_live_xxxxxxxxxxxxx"2. Start Hermes
Run the standard Hermes launch command. The agent will automatically detect the OPENAI_BASE_URL and route its internal requests to Qorebit.

Hermes relies heavily on tool calling (functions) for its autonomous skills. We recommend using capable reasoning models like openai/gpt-4o or anthropic/claude-3-5-sonnet for the best experience. Check the Model Library for supported models.
